SOCIAL PROBLEMS PRESENTED IN STEPHEN KING’S NOVELS ‘THE DEAD ZONE’ AND ‘THE GREEN MILE’

This article explores the social problems presented in Stephen King’s The Dead Zone (1979) and The Green Mile (1996), focusing on issues such as political corruption, authoritarianism, racism, wrongful conviction, institutional violence, and moral dilemmas. The research provides close textual evidence, including dialogues, narrative details, and descriptive scenes from both novels. The analysis demonstrates that King uses supernatural elements not merely for entertainment but to expose systemic injustices in American society.
