Abstract

Grammar plays a key role in teaching students how to write, as it forms the basis for constructing correct and understandable sentences. This article explores some theoretical items about how students’ grammatical competence can influence on their written communication. Author shows key functions of grammar in writing. Some grammatical difficulties are analyzed. The main reason of these difficulties is interference. Author explains what is interference, its types and gives examples.
